A very personal perspective on why I started this blooming social club

I’ve been waiting to share this story with you for such a long time… actually, since July 2020…
On a soft and warm evening, back in July 2020, while I was enjoying the magical sunset from Casa Ceu’s rooftop, in my-forever-love Algarve, I asked myself one question: what would I do if I had all the resources in the world?
The answer came with surprisingly ease – I would build an artistic residence by the sea – a place to gather all the amazing – creative – entrepreneurial – passionate women I’ve met in my travels around the world. A place where we would all come together to share inspiring stories, to find answers, to experience what belonging feels like, but most important – to CREATE! Because isn’t this a woman’s most precious gift – the ability to create?! We create lives by giving birth to new generations, we create homes by transforming houses with our presence, we create success by empowering others around us, we create art, beauty, memories, just by being.
I was so fascinated by my line of thoughts, feeling a wave of joy and enthusiasm flowing through me, allowing myself to dream with my eyes open that one day, in a place as magical as the one I was at, I will have around me all these women.
And then…life happened… My holiday ended and with it, caught in the tumult of the chaotic days, I left my dream captive in the back of a drawer… Months passed. Life walked me on totally unexpected paths. Things changed. I changed. I even got to a point where I was trapped in uncertainty and powerlessness.
Nevertheless, I’ve always been surrounded by uplifting people – my cheerleader team as I like to call them – and this shapeshifted my reality many times. Including on March 8th 2022 when, during a call with lovely Georgiana – talking about purpose, building communities and all the amazing women I have around me – she told me: why don’t you just build this community?! And so I did!
By the end of that same day, Sassy Women Society was born with the support of Tea – the creative that gives shape and form to all my prodigious ideas and Georgiana – the words wizard that turn every idea into a worth sharing story. On March 8th, the International Women’s Day. Call it coincidente. I don’t.

While exchanging ideas and concepts with them, my mood and energy instantly shifted. I was feeling, all of a sudden, empowered, purpose driven, determined, joyous! And these are the feelings I’m looking for in every project or action. They are my internal barometer.
It’s just after this call that I realised: we don’t need to have all the resources in the world to act upon our dreams! We just need to have the right people in our lives and to pay attention to our gut, our intuition. And, of course, to act! Dreams don’t work unless you do, right?
For me, SWS is a dream coming to life with each small step we take. It’s a confirmation that now I am on the right path in my life. A reason to fantasize over a glorious future. A driver for all my actions. A playground to explore my creativity. A whim to become a better version of myself. A storybook full of inspiration. And, why not, my legacy!
I hope you feel embraced, empowered, and inspired by us! But most of all, I hope you bloom by our side. Because we aim on being a blooming social club!
